An excellent reference for the classical treatment of differential geometry is the book by Struik [2]. The more descriptive guide by Hilbert and Cohn-Vossen [1]is also highly recommended. This book covers both geometry and differential geome-try essentially without the use of calculus. It contains many interesting results and.   For beginning geometry there are two truly wonderful books, Barrett O'neill's Elementary Differential Geometry and Singer and Thorpe's Lecture Notes on Elementary Topology and Geometry. Singer and Thorpe are well known mathematicians and wrote this book for undergraduates to introduce them to geometry from the modern view point.

Edited by Shing‐Tung Yau: pp. £/£ (Princeton University Press, New Jersey, U.S.A., )Author: T. J. Willmore.   Stochastic differential geometry is the generalization of differential geometry to "smooth" manifolds in the stochastic sense. What I mean by "the stochastic sense" is that they are infinitely differentiable according to the derivative rules of It.

Natural Operations in Differential Geometry. This book is a monographical work on natural bundles and natural operators in differential geometry and this book tries to be a rather comprehensive textbook on all basic structures from the theory of jets which appear in different branches of differential geometry.

This seminar is aimed at students who are interested in differential geometry. Students are expected to have a good knowledge of calculus, a certain familiarity with the differential geometry of surfaces, and properties of covering spaces and of the fundamental group.

Interested students from physics are also welcome to attend. Barrett O'Neill Elementary Differential Geometry Academic Press Inc.

If you prefer something shorter, there are two books of M. Do Carmo, 1. Differential geometry of curves and surfaces, and 2. Riemannian geometry. KEY WORDS: Curve, Frenet frame, curvature, torsion, hypersurface, funda-mental forms, principal curvature, Gaussian curvature, Minkowski curvature, manifold, tensor eld, connection, geodesic curve SUMMARY: The aim of this textbook is to give an introduction to di er-ential geometry.

It is based on the lectures given by the author at E otv os.It's also a good idea to have a book about elementary differential geometry, i.e. the study of curves and surfaces in 3d Euclidean space.

I suggest Christian Bär Elementary Differential Geometry, it's a rather modern treatment of the topic and the notation used is (almost) the same as the one used in abstract (semi) Riemannian geometry. Can anyone suggest any basic undergraduate differential geometry texts on the same level as Manfredo do Carmo's Differential Geometry of Curves and Surfaces other than that particular one?

(I know a similar question was asked earlier, but most of the responses were geared towards Riemannian geometry, or some other text which defined the concept of "smooth manifold" very early on.
